Maestra IRMA BLANCO

Softness in the shape of dolls

Irma García Blanco was born in Santa María Atzompa, Oaxaca, in 1959.

Of the extraordinary artistic gift, sensibility and Irma Blanco´s magic hands, these magnificent clay dolls come alive, in the purest naive style that characterizes the artisan’s work.

Irma is the daughter of the legendary Maestra Teodora Blanco, of whom Irma inherited the talent, the artistic genius, the taste and will to create only ¨beauty¨.

Irma has exhibited in her own Community and Country and abroad: USA, Canada and France, Paris, Grand Palais (with huge ¨dolls¨ of 1.7metre high!).

She is considered, with reason, a perfect Ambassador thanks to the quality of her work, as a prominent Mexican artisan.
